MACHINE HEAD: 'Halo' Video Posted Online
May 29, 2008MTV2's Headbanger's Blog is hosting the premiere of MACHINE HEAD's new video, "Halo". The clip, which was filmed on April 3 in San Francisco with director Mike Sloat ("Aesthetics of Hate", "Imperium", "Days Turn Blue to Gray"),was shot entirely in front of a green screen, and the footage was all digitally manipulated to mimic the style of the artwork from the packaging for MACHINE HEAD's new album "The Blackening". MACHINE HEAD guitarist Phil Demmel will appear at the London International Music Show for Jackson guitars on Saturday, June 14 at ExCel London at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on stand A4. In addition to taking part in a signing session, Demmel will be present for the UK debut of his signature Jackson Demmelition King V guitar.
MACHINE HEAD will take part in this summer's inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem tour, which is being co-headlined by SLIPKNOT and DISTURBED. The Mayhem lineup also includes DRAGONFORCE, MASTODON, AIRBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, BLACK TIDE and others.
MACHINE HEAD garnered the first Grammy nomination of its career for "Aesthetics of Hate", a monstrous track from the critically hailed album "The Blackening", released in March 2007. The song was nominated for "Best Metal Performance" (SLAYER eventually won the award for "The Final Six").
MACHINE HEAD will support SLIPKNOT on a European tour this fall. Also scheduled to appear on the bill is CHILDREN OF BODOM. So far only one date has been announced for the trek: November 21 at the Zenith de Paris venue in Paris, France.
